I know motherhood is exhausting, and sometimes stressful! At Sugar Divas Photography, I make the hassle of newborn portraits easier by coming to you if you prefer using a “Mobile Studio” setup or can rent studio space within the Kearney area for the day with a rental fee. With each newborn session, I utilize my studio lighting or utilize natural light your home may already have, when available.
Newborn portraits are a vital part of your family story’s photo album. After all, all our life’s journey starts here! These will be the photographs you show long after your little one is not so little anymore!

How do you accept payments for booking fees, session payments and prints?
I offer my clients several different ways to pay;
BOOKING FEE PAYMENTS:
For my booking fees, I accept credit/debit card payments, gift certificates (as purchased through my online store), or can accept checks by mail or at our in-person pre-session consultation, or PayPal or Venmo payment options. For Venmo & check payments, you will need to email me to arrange those payment options.
SESSION FEE BALANCES/PAYMENTS:
For the remaining session fee balances after booking fee payments are made, I will send you an invoice to your email address given at booking. From there you will need to sign your contract and can pay the remaining balance of the session fees due. You will have between the time I book with you until the day of our session to complete payments. If you would like to set up payment plan options, please let me know on your booking form and I will contact you to set that up. You can pay via debit/credit, gift certificate, PayPal, Venmo, check or cash on the day of our session. Please note: payments will need to be made in full on the day of our session.
GIFT CERTIFICATES:
I offer my clients the ability to purchase gift certificates as gifts for loved ones! To purchase a gift certificate, click the button below. You can purchase them via debit or credit card.

DIGITALS, PRINTS & PACKAGES:
For all my online print store products, there is only a couple ways to pay. That is via debit card or credit card. To purchase your digital downloads, printed photos, etc you will need to do so through my online client gallery store. I cannot accept payment via checks, cash or other for this.

Questions:
When should I book newborn portraits?
I recommend booking your newborn portraits by at least 6 months into your pregnancy to make sure I have time slots available near your due date. You can book sooner, if you prefer as well, but don’t wait too long. Your session date will be set for approximately 2 weeks after your estimated due date. I will touch base with you 1-2 weeks before your scheduled due date to see how you & baby are doing. Once baby has arrived, then parents will need to contact me for scheduling your exact session date.
How old should our baby be for newborn portraits?
The sweet spot is around 2-3 weeks old. During these first early weeks, baby sleeps a lot, is still newborn tiny, and is much easier to pose into those adorable poses you love most. Newborn Portraits apply for babies 6 weeks old and younger. I also offer children’s sitter portraits for babies 6mo & older.
What should I do to prepare for our session?
Prior to your session, I recommend feeding baby, warming the house or room we will be in to 75-78 degrees, and be sure to have a couple spaces cleared where I can set up our little newborn studio. I will bring all the necessary gear, lighting & props. For our little in-home studio spot, the best locations are typically a living room, dining room, larger bedroom, or office space where there is ample floor space and natural lighting.
What about newborn safety during our session?
Making sure your little one is safe, comfortable, and happy is my number one priority, as well as the safety and comfort of any other little ones, and parents. I have taken newborn safety courses, and continue to educate myself on newborn safety continuously. I practice safe standards when it comes to newborn poses, swaddles and wraps and will not force any specific poses on a baby that is not comfortable in the pose, and know what signs to look out for to indicate the baby is in distress or discomfort. I also never leave a baby unattended or without hands and parents very close by at all times.
Can I bring family members and other children to our newborn session?
Absolutely! I love a beautiful family newborn session! However, if we are providing family photos along with our newborn session, it is very important that we have two parents &/or additional family members in attendance to tend to the other children when they are not being photographed. At least one parent needs to be entirely focused on baby at all times during the session so teamwork from additional adult members of the family is required.
What happens if my baby is fussy or won’t sleep?
Don’t worry, this is very common & most likely will happen from time to time as we change sets, outfits, wraps or move baby into new poses. That is why my session times are as long as they are for even my most budget savvy package. I allow time for feedings, diaper changes & messes, fussiness, and snuggles…LOTS of snuggles. Prior to our session, I always suggest making sure baby has a full belly, and the room we photograph in is set to a warm temp baby is comfortable in.
Do I need to provide outfits for my baby?
No. For our session, all outfits and fabric wraps will be provided by me to save you the hassle! If you would like to use outfits you provide, however, you are free to do so. Just be sure to send me photos of the outfits prior to our session (at least a couple weeks) so that I can be sure to bring props and backdrops that will pair well with your outfits you’ve chosen.
What if baby comes earlier than our expected due date?
No worries! In the common event that this happens, and I make scheduling accommodations for that at booking to work your newborn session into my schedule..
